Young Anne Boleyn as Maid of Honor

Young Anne Boleyn (c. 1501 or 1507 – 19 May 1536) in her youth, and on the cusp of her adultery with Henry VIII while serving as his wife Queen Catherine's Maid of Honor.

Although Queen Catherine of Aragon had been a devoted and loyal wife to henry over their 2 decades of marriage, the young and dynamic lady Boleyn was everything that Catherine was not able to be. Lively and seductive, the beautiful young Boleyn was tutored in France and has a lively and wordly education.

But she was not only fun but also astute with ambitious cunning as well, her father Thomas Boleyn, 1st Earl of Wiltshire was one of the most ambitious rising nobles in the court and he had intentions of using his daughters as his ladders within the court. Anne observed her sister Mary Boleyn's extra marital dalliance with Henry, and also observed how that relation- whose ties were not cemented in either writing or public acknowledgement wilt and Mary was tossed to the side. In contrast to the discarded Mary, Anne would instead wade in with much more brazenness to seduce the King, firing up his desires while tactically witholding any consummations with him until he officially divorces his wife of 2 decades.

Historically from contemporary sources Anne was reported to have a slender build with long straight and thick black/ dark brown hair, dark brown (nearly black) eyes, a strong nose, a definite wide mouth with slim lips. In my depiction I choose to both depict her in her youthful beauty but also watching somewhat intently. Despite her indisputable beauty and youthful cheeks she is watching and measuring for any openings like a (well trained) bird of prey.
